Marron

1004-9B

Marron is a dark taupe-brown with a muted red undertone. Its red-brown base gives doors and built-ins a firm furniture-like presence. Built-ins, a small dining room, or interior doors work when black would feel too flat.

At LRV 13, it needs lamps to avoid collapsing into shadow. Cream trim gives just enough lift. Aged brass can bring out the warm side. Cool gray walls nearby may make the brown look heavier.

Marron in Different Light

Light temperature is measured in Kelvin: a warm 2700K bulb pulls colors toward yellow, while 5000K daylight reads cooler and truer. Check the color at the time of day you actually use the room.
