Somber

PPG1093-4

Against white tile, Somber is a muted camel tan with a golden brown base. The tan stays warm. The name sounds heavier than the color.

On walls, it feels warm and traditional, especially with wood floors, leather, or black accents. Its comfortably light depth helps it stay usable in larger rooms, but it can look flat beside too many similar beige fabrics. Add off-white trim and one cooler element, like blue artwork, for balance.

Somber in Different Light

Light temperature is measured in Kelvin: a warm 2700K bulb pulls colors toward yellow, while 5000K daylight reads cooler and truer. Check the color at the time of day you actually use the room.
