Benjamin Moore

Toucan Black

2118-20

Toucan Black (BM) is a deep near-black with a subtle gray undertone that prevents it from reading as a pure, flat black. At an LRV of 6.1, it absorbs nearly all incident light and will appear densely dark across most lighting conditions. A faint cool cast in the gray undertone gives it slight depth beyond a standard black.

It coordinates with Benjamin Moore's White Dove, Simply White, Kendall Charcoal, Van Deusen Blue, and Salamander, supporting stark light-dark contrast schemes as well as dark tonal layering with accent color punctuation.

Toucan Black in Different Light

Light temperature is measured in Kelvin: a warm 2700K bulb pulls colors toward yellow, while 5000K daylight reads cooler and truer. Check the color at the time of day you actually use the room.
