Benjamin Moore

River Silt

CSP-180

River Silt is a cool gray with mossy green-brown undertones, sitting at an LRV of 21.08, which places it on the darker side of the mid-tone range. The earthy cast prevents it from reading as a standard cool gray, adding a subtle organic quality more pronounced against pure white surfaces. It absorbs considerable light, so adequate illumination is needed.

It works with Benjamin Moore Gray Owl for a lighter analogous pairing, Silver Satin for soft neutral trim, Hale Navy for deep contrast, White Dove for a bright offset, and Black Forest Green as a rich tonal companion.

River Silt in Different Light

Light temperature is measured in Kelvin: a warm 2700K bulb pulls colors toward yellow, while 5000K daylight reads cooler and truer. Check the color at the time of day you actually use the room.
