Ruby Petals

M223

Valspar Ruby Petals is a dusky raspberry red with a smoky undertone. Restraint beats the name. On cabinets or a powder room wall, it gives color without the sharpness of clean magenta.

Natural oak and unlacquered brass suit it well. If used across a larger bedroom, soften the palette with oatmeal bedding and off-white trim. Strong cool light can pull the shade a little more violet.

Ruby Petals in Different Light

Light temperature is measured in Kelvin: a warm 2700K bulb pulls colors toward yellow, while 5000K daylight reads cooler and truer. Check the color at the time of day you actually use the room.
