Classic Red

1009-2

Classic Red is a deep true red with a slightly cool berry-brown undertone. Even a small dose feels strong. A front door, dining room cabinet, or powder room can carry it if the rest of the palette stays disciplined.

The low LRV makes it shadowy on broad walls. Cream trim warms it, and crisp white makes it sharper. Test near brick before exterior use, because reds can clash more easily than they appear on chips.

Classic Red in Different Light

Light temperature is measured in Kelvin: a warm 2700K bulb pulls colors toward yellow, while 5000K daylight reads cooler and truer. Check the color at the time of day you actually use the room.

LRV measures how much light a color reflects, from 0 (black) to 100 (pure white). Below about 50 a color needs good lighting to avoid going flat, 60 and up helps brighten a room, and most whites sit above 80.
