Elkhound

MQ1-56

Elkhound is a medium taupe-brown with a muted red-orange base. It feels earthy and settled, not gray or flat. Its red clay undertone wants deliberate contrast.

Use it for a den, cabinet color, or exterior trim with stonework. Cream, black metal, or worn leather keep the scheme grounded. In bright rooms, the brown looks softer and more beige. In dim light, it becomes moodier, so make sure the room has enough contrast.

Elkhound in Different Light

Light temperature is measured in Kelvin: a warm 2700K bulb pulls colors toward yellow, while 5000K daylight reads cooler and truer. Check the color at the time of day you actually use the room.
