Farrow & Ball

London Clay

No. 244

London Clay is a deep, muted brown with subtle mauve undertones that give it a slightly cool lean compared to standard mid-browns. Its LRV of 40.9 places it in the darker mid-range, so it absorbs a fair amount of light and reads best in rooms with adequate natural or layered artificial lighting. It is commonly used on accent walls, in studies, or on cabinetry where a grounded tone is needed.

Peignoir and Skimming Stone work alongside it for softer surfaces, Wimborne White handles trim well, and Treron or a deep navy can anchor a fuller scheme.
