Bossa Nova

S540-7

Bossa Nova is smoky blue-violet. It has more depth than a typical gray-blue, so use it where a moody backdrop is wanted. A study wall or bookcase can carry it well.

In dim rooms, the color leans charcoal. Warm brass brings out a little richness. Keep nearby whites softer than gallery white, because harsh contrast can make the violet feel colder.

Bossa Nova in Different Light

Light temperature is measured in Kelvin: a warm 2700K bulb pulls colors toward yellow, while 5000K daylight reads cooler and truer. Check the color at the time of day you actually use the room.
