Sherwin Williams

Valiant Violet

SW 6818

Valiant Violet is a dark, saturated purple with strong cool blue undertones that give it a dense, inky appearance. At an LRV of 6, it absorbs nearly all light and reads as very dark in most interior conditions, making it suited for accent walls, smaller enclosed rooms, or exterior doors. The blue shift separates it from warmer plum tones.

It can be applied in contemporary or eclectic interiors where high contrast is needed. Valiant Violet pairs with Sherwin-Williams Eider White or Pure White for tonal contrast, while Potentially Purple and Majestic Purple offer analogous layering.

Valiant Violet in Different Light

Light temperature is measured in Kelvin: a warm 2700K bulb pulls colors toward yellow, while 5000K daylight reads cooler and truer. Check the color at the time of day you actually use the room.
