Glidden

Molasses

PPG1079-7

Molasses is a deep warm brown with an orange undertone. It can ground a study, bar area, or exterior accent with a rich, tobacco-like weight. This color absorbs light.

Cream trim and antique brass suit it, but the room still needs layered lighting. In a small room, the brown will close in faster than the chip suggests. Limestone makes the orange undertone look drier.

Molasses in Different Light

Light temperature is measured in Kelvin: a warm 2700K bulb pulls colors toward yellow, while 5000K daylight reads cooler and truer. Check the color at the time of day you actually use the room.
