Farrow & Ball

Chine Green

No. 35

Chine Green is a cool-leaning green with distinct gray undertones that keep it from reading too saturated. At an LRV of 31.2, it absorbs more light than it reflects, giving it a deeper, more enclosed feel suited to studies, feature walls, or rooms where a lower light level is acceptable. The gray base allows it to sit comfortably alongside other muted tones.

Farrow & Ball's Light Gray and Old White work well as trim or ceiling colours to maintain contrast. For a darker, more layered scheme, Hague Blue or Brinjal can be introduced, and Pale Powder or Borrowed Light will soften the overall composition.

Chine Green in Different Light

Light temperature is measured in Kelvin: a warm 2700K bulb pulls colors toward yellow, while 5000K daylight reads cooler and truer. Check the color at the time of day you actually use the room.
