Frankincense

3002-5C

Frankincense is a golden tan with a pronounced orange-brown warmth. It has spice. On walls, it can feel cozy in a den or dining room, but it may get too strong in a bright south-facing space.

Use it carefully around oak, since similar undertones can blur together. A cooler stone floor or black iron hardware gives the color a firmer edge. Sample at full size before painting adjoining rooms.

Frankincense in Different Light

Light temperature is measured in Kelvin: a warm 2700K bulb pulls colors toward yellow, while 5000K daylight reads cooler and truer. Check the color at the time of day you actually use the room.
