Glidden

Crushed Velvet

PPG1245-7

Crushed Velvet is a deep blue-violet with a saturated, inky cast. It needs purpose. Use it on built-ins, a bedroom accent wall, or a small powder room where drama belongs.

Warm brass and walnut keep it from feeling cold. In low light, the blue can darken fast and the violet becomes subtle. A satin sheen can help the color hold more dimension.

Crushed Velvet in Different Light

Light temperature is measured in Kelvin: a warm 2700K bulb pulls colors toward yellow, while 5000K daylight reads cooler and truer. Check the color at the time of day you actually use the room.
