Farrow & Ball

Black Blue

No. 95

Black Blue is a very dark blue-gray that can read near-black in low light, with blue undertones showing more clearly in daylight. With an LRV of 25.6, it absorbs light and is usually better suited to rooms with decent natural light or to use on trim and cabinetry. It can sharpen architectural edges and reduce visual clutter on built-ins.

For controlled contrast, Wevet and Strong White work well on trim and ceilings. For related dark blues, Hague Blue and Railings stay in the same family, and Tanner’s Brown can add a warmer adjacent tone.
