Valspar

Rootstock

M107

Rootstock is a very dark earthy brown with a red orange base. The red orange base keeps this brown from feeling flat. Lean on it on doors, cabinets, or a small den where a near black brown makes sense.

The low LRV means lighting must do the work. For Rootstock, Ivory trim plus aged brass. In flat paint, it can look almost black. Use it where shadow feels intentional.

Rootstock in Different Light

Light temperature is measured in Kelvin: a warm 2700K bulb pulls colors toward yellow, while 5000K daylight reads cooler and truer. Check the color at the time of day you actually use the room.
