Farrow & Ball

Blackened

No. 2011

Blackened is a pale cool gray with a slight blue undertone that keeps it from reading beige. With an LRV of 85.9, it reflects a lot of light and can make walls look cleaner in north-facing rooms. It is often used in modern interiors where a white feels too stark but a warm neutral feels too yellow.

For tonal layering, it works with Dimpse and Pavilion Gray, and it can sit next to Borrowed Light for a cool, low-contrast scheme. For deeper accents, Railings or Stiffkey Blue provide stronger definition.
